What would be a good business name for a Fabric and Bead shop in Michigan, near the water? (Category: Small Business) Hi Julie,
I really like that idea of yours. I'm not too good with suggestions of this type, but I though of the name Handy Haven.
Good luck with this great project!
How is The Machine Shop, located in one of the crappiest cities, able to get such good acts for concerts? (Category: Rock and Pop) The Shop is a great place to see a concert.

(Category: Higher Education (University +)) well as for grades your good...I graduated w/ a 3.6 GPA from HS and was involved w/ sports & drama but my SATs were only 1000-and that was a problem. You need high SAT scores, at leave B+ avergae and must be involved w/ sports and other extra curricular....get a tutor for your SATs...good luck!
What are my chances of getting into Nyu? (Category: Higher Education (University +)) It depends on which school within N.Y.U you are applying to. Getting into Stern and Tisch is pretty difficult, but getting into the school of arts and sciences is a bit easier. To get into N.Y.U in general you'll need about an unweighted g.p.a of 3.6, and a 2000 S.A.T score. You should take as many AP courses as you can, and challenge yourself as much as possible to show them that you can handle a heavy workload. On top of this, you'll need to write some well crafted essays. The essays are critical. If you are qualified, the essays are what distinguish you from the rest of the applicants so don't take them lightly. If you do these things you'll have a good shot, but no guarantee of getting in. Good Luck!
can i get fired for this? (Category: Small Business) Michigan is already an at will employment state unless you have an employment contract or are part of a union bargaining group. Whether you sign it or not, they can hold you to it's policies. Their only responsibility is to notify you of the policy.
By having you sign it they jsut have "confirmation" that they've notified you. In a court of law, as long as you've received one, you've technically been notified.
It will do you no good not to sign it, they can hold you to it. If you don't sign it for other than legal reasons, it may cast negatively on your willingness to live up to the policies of the company.
Your choice!
What are my chances of getting into NYU? (Category: Higher Education (University +)) My brother from another mother is going to NYU next year for finance. He plays tennis, and is involved with our school's math team, and other nerdy clubs like that. He also has a 3.9 GPA.
You should get involved and do a lot of community service. Keep your grades up.
what are my chances of getting into nyu? (Category: Higher Education (University +)) I go to NYU now. When I was a freshman, I probably had a 3.3 GPA. Like you, I did no sports but I was in a few clubs (chorus, creative writing, and community service). Your classes look fine, but I would suggest taking two AP classes by senior year, raising your overall GPA, and getting some comm. service hours. Also, NYU loves creativity- learn an instrument, win at an art fair, publish a poem, ect. Good luck, and go Fighting Violets!
Will the Manufacturing jobs in Michigan ever be the same again.? (Category: Other - Cars & Transportation) no jobs in the U.S will ever be the same, the companies want to move out of this country for the cheaper labor in asia, mexico, china, etc. The name of the game is they all want to make more money at the employee's expense and want to give the company heads bigger bonuses, it all started with the NAFTA agreement that everyone wanted except the unions and they warned everyone what would happen and it has. TOO LATE NOW!
What is my chance of getting into nyu? (Category: Higher Education (University +)) I would just call NYU's undergraduate admissions office. They will be happy to answer your questions.
walk from 1st and 2nd mortgage with no assets and very little income? (Category: Renting & Real Estate) You already have a bankruptcy on your credit report so walking away from your mortgage isn't going to make much difference. The bank will sell the home, if they can, and take a loss on the mortgage. Your credit is already trashed so there's not much more that can happen. Of course you'll probably be ineligible for another mortgage for 10 years or so which means that when the housing market goes up, you won't be able to profit from that. But I don't figure you really care at this point.
If you can find a place that will rent to you on your current income (or lack of same), go for it.
